alcohol stoves, eCHS

At the moment I have 3 alcohol stoves.

  • A fancee feest which uses a potted meat can, a tomato can and some carbon felt
  • zelph goto venom stove system
  • alocs trangia clone
With the weather turning colder all of a sudden, and a few outside projects coming to a close I decided to pursue building another alcohol stove based on tetkoba's Capillary Hoop Stove, the eCHS (easy capillary hoop stove).

After watching a video which talks about what type of can to use for eCHS
(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-MnqMtLMSag)  I decided to walk over to the Korean market that's next to the office.

I looked over their cans and ended up with this one:

This can is 250ml (8.4oz), the top ring is about the same diameter as the can body (allowing for a good seal), and the lid is deeply recessed into the top (allowing for foldover room).

This can is very heavy duty, the bottom is folded like a food can.  There were other cans from the same company, those had normal bottoms and much shallower lids.

The can bottom is also folded.  It's definitely a heavy duty can.  I also saw a joe 5.6 oz coffee shot can but didn't feel like forking out 1.99usd for it.

So I drank the contents already and will start working on getting this into eCHS form.  I need to find a way of making the jet holes still...
